Publicis Groupe sees another leadership shift as Global Chief Production Officer James Morris departs, marking a new phase in its creative evolution.
Publicis Groupe is witnessing another leadership shift as James Morris, its Global Chief Production Officer, prepares to exit at the end of October 2025. His departure closes a dynamic chapter in the holding company’s creative transformation journey and marks the end of a fast-paced year of innovation, restructuring, and growth.
Morris joined Publicis Groupe at the start of 2024 as Chief Executive of Creative Transformation for EMEA. Within a year, he was elevated to Global Chief Production Officer—a testament to his strategic insight and deep understanding of the evolving production landscape. His brief yet impactful tenure saw Publicis strengthen its creative and production synergy across regions, positioning the network to better meet the demands of modern clients in an AI-driven media world.
Announcing his departure, Morris shared on LinkedIn, “Shamelessly sharing some personal news. Thank you to all at Publicis, and excited for what comes next. In the meantime, I’m going to enjoy time out with my family and mates.” He added that the organization now has “a solid team in place,” making this the right moment for him to move on. Publicis Groupe confirmed that the position will not be directly replaced, signaling a possible restructuring of its global production leadership model.
Before his tenure at Publicis, Morris built an impressive portfolio of leadership roles across major creative and production networks. At Dentsu, he served as CEO for Creative, Entertainment, and Sport in the UK beginning in 2019 and later expanded his remit to EMEA, overseeing integrated creative, media, and production operations. Earlier, as Global CEO at Stink, he championed content innovation across television, branded entertainment, and digital experiences for brands like Google, Nike, and Channel 4. His earlier years at Mediacom provided a strong foundation in creative strategy and media excellence.
Morris’s exit adds to a series of leadership transitions at Publicis Groupe as it continues refining its creative and production ecosystem to align with shifting global client needs. As the company adapts to new models of creativity, automation, and content delivery, industry observers will be watching closely to see how this leadership evolution shapes Publicis’s next phase of innovation.
