CERAC: Pioneering Renewable Energy with Innovation and Strategic Growth

Energy

A New Dawn in Renewable Energy

In the late 2000s, as Europe awakened to the urgency of transitioning from conventional fuels to sustainable energy, a new player quietly took root with a bold vision. Founded in 2009 in Luxembourg, CERAC emerged at the height of the renewable energy boom, determined to harness the untapped potential of wind power. What began as a venture into large-scale wind farms soon grew into a transformative force in Europe’s renewable landscape. Today, headquartered in Cyprus, CERAC has evolved into several JVs, the primary being YVS CERAC—a pioneering group shaping the future of wind and solar energy across Central and Southern Europe.

Over 14 years later, CERAC is no longer just a developer. It is a syndicator, integrator, and trusted manager, delivering long-term value to investors and communities alike. From the windswept plains of Poland to the sunlit landscapes of Greece, CERAC’s projects have come to embody a story of persistence, innovation, and partnership.

Building Blocks of a Vision

From its inception, CERAC recognized that success in renewable energy demanded more than just building projects. It required a comprehensive value creation model—one that would guide projects from idea to exit with investor confidence at every step.

YVS CERAC drives value for renewable energy investors through a structured, four-phase approach:

  • Project Identification & Investor Engagement – Seeking out strategic markets, generating investor interest, and securing syndication mandates.
  • Development & Optimization – Guiding projects through design, permitting, and efficiency enhancement.
  • Syndication & Financing – Negotiating PPAs, structuring equity participation, and arranging project financing with trusted financial partners.
  • Execution, Management & Exit – Overseeing EPCM services, operations, and maintenance while preparing seamless exit strategies.

This holistic approach became CERAC’s signature, setting it apart as a partner-driven renewable energy leader that speaks the language of both investors and communities.

Proven Track Record: Turning Vision into Reality

While many startups speak of ambition, CERAC’s strength lies in the projects it has already delivered. From pioneering wind farms in Poland to scaling complex multi-megawatt ventures across Europe, CERAC’s history is a testament to execution, financial discipline, and investor confidence.

Beyond the numbers, each project tells a story of persistence and precision. CERAC’s journey began with the 20MW Kanin project, completed in 2012, where it not only managed development but also secured financing from DnB and Raiffeisen Bank, delivering investors a 25% exit IRR. Building on that success, the 37.5MW Orla wind farm followed in 2014, backed by the EBRD and BOS Bank, with a successful exit to Eurowatt at a 20% return.

But the true breakthrough came with PotÄ™gowo, a massive 250MW wind project, one of the largest in Poland, which reached commercial operation in 2021 after securing over €300M in financing from a syndicate of top-tier institutions including EBRD, DnB, Pekao, and mBank. The project’s IPO exit yielded an impressive 35% IRR, cementing CERAC’s reputation as a developer that can handle scale with precision.

Today, CERAC’s forward momentum continues with the 48MW Nozdrzec wind project, launched in 2022 and set for commercial operation by 2024. Backed by European banks and leading equity partners, this project is designed not for a quick exit but for a long-term build-and-hold strategy — signaling CERAC’s confidence in steady, sustainable growth across Europe.

This track record illustrates more than just completed projects — it highlights CERAC’s consistent ability to secure financing, manage complex engineering, and deliver competitive returns. For investors, lenders, and stakeholders, these milestones are living proof that CERAC’s promises are rooted in performance.

Milestones That Defined the Journey

Every company has turning points, and for CERAC, these milestones capture its transformation from an ambitious startup into a respected European leader.

  • 2010–2020: Cemented its reputation in Poland, delivering significant wind energy capacity with support from equity investors and leading financial institutions.
  • 2021: Formed the YVS Cerac Joint Venture with YVS Energy, expanding into Greece with five renewable projects (solar and wind farms in Mavrovouni, Kakouri, Zarkorachi, Mikri Petra, and Mandara) expected to generate up to 500 MW of clean energy. In the same year, YVS CERAC acquired the Udanin Wind Farm in Poland for redevelopment, a project with over 100 MW capacity.
  • 2022: Expanded further in Poland with the purchase of the 48 MW Nozdrzec Wind Farm, earmarked for redevelopment.
  • 2023: Construction with Mbank & EBRD began on the Nozdrzec project, marking a key achievement in bringing renewable energy closer to local communities.
  • 2024 & Beyond: Established new development companies in Poland to scale operations, while preparing a pipeline of photovoltaic projects aimed at reducing Europe’s carbon footprint.

These milestones are not merely statistics—they are proof of CERAC’s ability to adapt, expand, and thrive in a fast-changing industry.

Partnerships that Power Progress

CERAC’s growth has always been fueled by the strength of its alliances. NBGI , PLENUS (Viola Group in Israel ) then a defining moment came with its joint venture with the Israel Infrastructure Fund under Mashav Energy, which showcased CERAC’s capacity to handle complex renewable projects. More recently, the formation of YVS-CERAC Management with YVS Renewable created an independently managed powerhouse, overseeing sourcing, syndication, and funding activities across Europe.

These collaborations highlight CERAC’s collaborative DNA—a belief that the renewable energy transition cannot be achieved alone but through strategic, enduring partnerships.

Beyond Technology: A Human-Centered Approach

CERAC’s journey is also defined by how it approaches people and communities. For the company, renewable energy is not just about megawatts and turbines—it’s about creating a positive social and environmental footprint.

In Poland, teams approach landowners with patience and clarity, answering questions and ensuring that projects are understood, accepted, and welcomed. In Greece, projects are designed not only to deliver energy but also to support ecological balance and local development. This philosophy ensures that CERAC’s projects do not just power grids—they empower communities.

A Corporate Vision for the Future

With its headquarters in Cyprus and operational hubs in Greece and Poland, YVS CERAC has positioned itself at the heart of Europe’s renewable transition. The company continues to:

  • Maintain strong collaborations with leading European financial institutions, renewable funds, and private investors.
  • Work with top-tier EPC contractors, turbine manufacturers, and PV equipment suppliers.
  • Deliver creative, non-conventional solutions to complex renewable energy challenges.

As a premier EPCM provider, CERAC’s expertise in engineering, technology, and construction ensures its projects are built for long-term performance and sustainability.

Future Roadmap

The future for CERAC is one of expansion and deeper impact. With a robust pipeline of wind PV & now also Storage projects across Europe, new photovoltaic Wind & Storage developments under negotiation, and an unwavering focus on sustainability, the company is poised to accelerate its contribution to Europe’s renewable energy transition.

What sets CERAC apart is its blend of vision and pragmatism—a company that knows how to dream big while executing with precision. As Europe marches toward a cleaner, greener future, YVS CERAC stands as a beacon of what’s possible when innovation, partnership, and purpose align.
